Once you have mastered all the steps of this short sequence, you will be able to complete it in little more than a minute.

The Sequence
When you are doing the Setup, you are preparing your energy field, allowing the sequences to be more effective. You are aligning your energy system before correcting its disruptions.The Sequence:There may be in your energy system a form of electrical interference that prevents the sequence from being effective. The Setup can remove this interference. This blockage or interference is not the same thing as the disruptions of energy that cause negative emotions. Rather, it is more like an interfering blockage that changes the energy system's polarity.
Here is an analogy. Let's say you have a small battery-operated tape recorder. These batteries have little - and + indicating their polarity. If these - and + are aligned when you insert them in the tape recorder, the current runs through normally and the tape recorder works perfectly. But if you place them backwards, the tape recorder will not work. The same thing happens when the polarity is changed in your own energy system, as if your batteries were inserted backwards. I'm not saying that you completely stop functionning. But, your progress will be slowed down in certain areas.
This polarity change is called Psychological Reversal (PR). This is a most fascinating discovery that can be applied to every area of healing, transformation and personal performance.
This is what explains why certain illnesses are chronic and react very little to conventional therapy and care. It is also the reason why certain people cannot easily lose weight ou get rid of their addictions. It is really the cause of self-sabotage.
Psychological Reversal is caused by negative thoughts that work against the goal the person is trying to attain, and this is often unconsious. Usually, this PR is present in 40% of the cases, and prevents success. Some people are never reversed (this is rather rare), and ohers are reversed most of the time (this is rather rare as well.) Most people are in the middle, between these two extremes. You cannot feel physically whether you are psychologically reversed. It can happen to the most positive of us.
When PR is present, it will stop all attempt at healing, including EFT. It must therefore be corrected in order for EFT to be effective.
We always begin by doing the PR procedure. If PR is not present, you're not harming the person by doing the procedure anyway. However, if it was present, you will have removed an major obstacle. After all, it only takes 8-10 seconds to do it.
Here is how you do the Setup:
You repeat an affirmation three tmes by rubbing "your sore spot". I explain below:
First, the affirmation.
Since the cause of the psychological reversal includes a negative thought, it is normal that the correction include an affirmation which can neutralize it. Here is an example:
Even if I have this ________________, I profoundly and completely accept myself.The blank is replaced by a short description of the problem you want to address.Below are a few examples.
Even if I have this fear of public speaking, I profoundly and completely accept myself .This is not a complete list, because the questions you can address with EFT are infinite. We can change the affirmations around, for example:Even if I have this headache, I profoundly and completely accept myself .
Even if I have this anger against my father, I profoundly and completely accept myself.
Even if I have this war memory, I profoundly and completely accept myself.
Even if I have this tension in my neck, I profoundly and completely accept myself.

I accept myself totally, even if I have this __________________.All these forms of affirmations are O.K. They all acknowledge the problem and create self-acceptance, despite the problem. This is what you need for the affirmation to be effective. You can recite other forms of affirmations, of course, but I recommend these because they are known to be very successful.Even if I have this ____________, I profoundly and totally accept myself.
I love and accept myself, even if I have this __________________.

You don't need to believe in these affirmations in order for them to work - just say them.
It can work better if you say them with emphasis and emotion, but even if you don't, you will still get results.
It is preferable to say them out loud, but if there are people around you, you can whisper them, or think them, and you will still probably get good results.
To increase the effectiveness of the affirmation, you rub a sore spot close to the collarbone ou tap the karate point. I explain this below.
The sore spot:
At the base of your throat is a small U (the upper part of the sternum). Place your fingers on this U, and move down about 7 cm (towards the belly button) and 7 cm towards the right or left. Your fingers are now on the upper part of your chest. If you apply a bit of pressure in this area (a radius of about 5 cm), you will find a sore spot. That's the spot you will rub when you say your affirmation.
The point is sore because there is neurolympatic congestion in this area, and you disperse it. After a while, the congestion will disappear and you can rub without feeling any pain. The point here is not for you to experience a lot of pain. If it is really sore, then press more lightly. If you were operated in this area, then tap the karate point instead.
The karate point:
The karate point is on the side of the hand, between the base of the baby finger and the beginning of the wrist. It's the part of the hand that you would use when you give a karate chop.
You don't rub this point like you would the sore spot, but you tap on it, rather vigourously if you want to, using the index and middle fingers of your other hand (if you prefer, you can tap with all four fingers).
Those are the steps for the setup. You tap (or rub) either one of these two points, repeating your affirmation three times, with emphasis. After a while, you will be able to complete this setup procedure within 8 or 10 seconds.
This concept is quite simple. You balance the energy system by tapping on entry or exit points along the meridians. When you tap using your index and middle fingers, you cover a larger area and are sure of being on or near an acupuncture point.Reminder Phrase:Tap firmly, but don't hurt yourself. You will repeat a short reminder phrase as you tap on these points, so you will tap each point between 5 and 9 times. You can tap with either hand, on either side, and even change hands or sides at any time in the sequence.
Each meridian has an entry or exit point, and they are points that are closest to the surface of the skin. When you do the sequence, you will be tapping only one point along each of the meridians, either the entry or exit point. This will correct any disruption that exists. Here is the sequence you will follow.
The beginning of the eyebrow, closest to the nose. This is the EB (beginning of the eyebrow).You have noticed that this sequence begins at the head and moves down along the body. It makes it much easier for you to learn. You will find that after doing the sequence two or three times, you will never forget it.
The small bone on the corner of the eye, near the temple. This point is the CE (corner of the eye).
The small bone under the eye, about 2 cm under the pupil. Ths point is the UE (under the eye).
The small space between the nose and the upper lip. This point is the UN (under the nose).
Between the lower lip and the chin. This point is the CH (chin point).
The point where the sternum, the clavicule and the first rib meet. To find it, place your index finger on the small U at the base of your throat, slide your finger down, about 2 cm, then to the right or left, about 2 cm. This point is the CL (clavicule), even though it is not directly on the clavicule. It is at the beginning and slightly under the clavicule.
Under the breast (a few cm). This point is the UB (under the breast).
Under the arm, about 10 cm from the underarm. This point is the UA (under the arm).
The outside edge of the thumb, at the base of the nail. This point is the TH (thumb).
The base of the fingernail on the index, on the side closest to the thumb. This point is the IN (index).
The base of the fingernail on the middle finger, on the side closest to the thumb. This pint is the MI (middle finger).
The base of the fingernail on the baby finger, on the side closest to the thumb. This point is the BF (baby finger).
The last point is the Karate point. It is described above, in the setup description. The point is on the side of the hand, in the middle of the area between your wrist and the base of your baby finger. This point is the KC (karate chop point).Below is the list of points. This is the sequence you will follow when you tap:
EB - beginning of the eyebrow
CE - corner of the eye
UE - under the eye
UN - under the nose
CH - chin point
CL - clavicule
UB - under the breast
UA - under the arm
TH - corner of the fingernail, on the thumb
IN - corner of the fingernail, on the index finger
MI - corner of the fingernail, on the middle finger
BF - corner of the fingernail, on the baby finger

Here is a procedure that may seem a little bit weird. Its goal is to involve the brain, by doing movemens with your eyes, humming and counting. As all the nerves are connected, some parts of the brain are stimulated when you move your eyes. The right side of the brain (the creative side) is involved when you hum, and the left side (the more digital side) is involved when you count.
These nine steps that stimulate the brain can be done in about 10 seconds, while you tap the gamut point. Doing this nine-gamut procedure can sometimes speed up progress.
Where is the gamut point? Make a fist with your hand and find the little depression, on the back of the hand, that is situated between the knuckle of the baby finger and the ring finger.
As you are taping on this point, do the following nine steps:
Close your eyesNow, repeat the Sequence as it is explained above.
Open your eyes
Look hard down right, without moving your head
Look hard down left, without moving your head
Without moving your head, roll your eyes in a circle (as if your nose were the center of a clock and your eyes were the hands - moving your eyes from 6 to 6)
Do the same thing in the other direction
Hum a little tune that you know, for two or three seconds
Count quickly from 1 to 5
Hum the same little tune for two or three secondsYou can even mix the order of these nine steps, except for the last three that have to be done together.
The reminder phrase is just the little phrase resuming your affirmation, that you will repeat as you tap each of the points of the sequence.When you have memorized this basic recipe, you will have found a friend for life.For example, if your affirmation was: "Even if I have this fear of public speaking, I profoundly and completely accept myself.", your reminder phrase would be: "fear of public speaking".
Another example: "Even if I have this headache, I profoundly and completely accept myself." - the reminder phrase would be: "this headache".
